How did Christ Lutheran get started?
Christ Lutheran began in 1980 as a mission offshoot of our Gainesville congregation.
Who attends this church?
A mix of religious backgrounds, cultures, and life-stages are all represented at Christ Lutheran. About 30 worshippers gather each weekend to explore, grow in, and celebrate the blessing of life through Jesus Christ.
What is the purpose of this church?
Christ Lutheran provides opportunities for people to learn about their great God, to develop strong friendships with other Christians and to serve their Savior with their time and talents.
What is worship like at Christ Lutheran?
Christ Lutheran is a traditional Lutheran church which uses a liturgy with a blend of familiar Christian hymns. The piano and the organ are the main instruments used in worship.
Will I need to sign anything or stand up when I come for the first time?
No. Please visit, relax, enjoy, mingle, and get a feel of what this congregation is like. We promise that you won't be embarrassed or put on the spot when you visit Christ Lutheran. Please come and make yourself at home.
What does Christ Lutheran have for my kids?
Christ Lutheran teaches important Bible stories to kids ages 4-10 on a weekly basis. Christ Lutheran Kids gives children the chance to meet other Christian kids and learn important Bible truths and life skills. Confirmation Class provides a solid foundation of the Bible's teachings during 6th, 7th & 8th grade. There is something to include everyone in the family!
What does it mean to be a WELS congregation?
Christ Lutheran is a member congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). This means we share a common faith and mission with more than 1,200 other congregations. WELS churches work together in a variety of ways to share the Gospel all over the world.
Can I receive Communion at Christ Lutheran?
Communion is offered on the 3rd Sunday of the month. If you are not already a member of Christ Lutheran, we ask that you speak with the pastor before receiving communion.
How do I become a member of Christ Lutheran?
Church membership is important. It connects you closely to a family of believers and shows your commitment to your Savior.
To become a member at Christ Lutheran if you are not already a member of a church of our fellowship, make time to complete the Bible Information Class with pastor. This class can be arranged for a mutually convenient time and it will enable you to get to know the main teachings of the Bible and the Lutheran Church.
If you are already a member of one of the churches of our fellowship, please ask Pastor for a membership application and request a transfer of membership to Christ Lutheran from your current pastor.
